Privacy policy
Who we are
CipherBlade LLC is responsible (the “controller”) for the personal data described here. Write to us at hq@cipherblade.com with any question about this policy or to use the rights below.
What we receive and why
This website has no forms or accounts and stores nothing itself. Personal data reaches us in four ways:
- Consultation bookings. When you book a call, Calendly passes us your name, email address, anything you write about your matter and the time you chose; payment is handled by Calendly’s payment provider, Stripe, and we never see your card details. We use this to hold the consultation and to follow up on it, because you asked us to (taking steps towards a contract).
- Emails you send us. When you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as your name, country, what happened, transaction IDs, wallet addresses, amounts and any case details. We use it to assess your enquiry and reply, because you asked us to (taking steps towards a contract).
- Analytics cookies, only if you accept them. Google Analytics records which pages you visit, how far you scroll, which links to other sites you click, whether you open the booking calendar, show our phone number or start an email to us, roughly where you are, your device and whether you booked a call, using a cookie and your IP address. We use it to improve the site and see which pages lead to bookings, based on your consent.
- Hosting. Our host, Vercel, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, as any web server does. This is in our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
Who else handles it
Each of these providers processes data for us under its own terms and privacy notice:
- Calendly (bookings): calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice
- Stripe (payments, through Calendly): stripe.com/privacy
- Google Workspace (our email): policies.google.com/privacy
- Lawmatics (our case-management system, which holds enquiries): lawmatics.com/privacy-policy
- Google Analytics (statistics, after consent): policies.google.com/privacy
- Vercel (hosting and cookie-free statistics): vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
These providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where it comes from the UK or the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the safeguards those providers offer, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Booking details are kept in Calendly, in Stripe and in our email. Emails you send us, and the enquiry records made from them in Lawmatics, are kept until you ask us to delete them, except where the law requires us to keep them. Payment records stay in Stripe until you ask us to delete them, except where the law requires us to keep them. Google Analytics deletes its data automatically at the end of the retention period set in our account, 14 months at most. Vercel’s cookie-free statistics keep no personal data, and its request logs are short-lived.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct or delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to send it to you or someone else in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to hq@cipherblade.com; we answer within one month. If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets its cookies only after you click Accept on the cookie notice; they expire within a year, and we ask again 12 months after you chose. The booking calendar loads only when you choose to show it, and Calendly sets its own cookies from that point. Vercel’s page-view and speed statistics run for every visitor but set no cookies: visits are counted with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours (see Vercel’s analytics privacy notice).
To withdraw or change your cookie choice, use this button. It clears Google Analytics cookies and shows the notice again.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the effective date above.
